Dental Assistant/Oral Health Assistant at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Southern, Otago

We have a unique opportunity for you as a Dental Assistant to work as part of our professional and supportive Community Oral Health Service covering the wider Otago region. There has never been a better time to join our Southern family!

About the role

You will be responsible for helping to maintain the oral health of children in our region.

You will work alongside an Oral Health Therapist/Dental Therapist/Community Dentist as part of a supportive and friendly team who is committed to delivering quality health services for our tamariki.

About you

You'll be a people person who enjoys working with children, is culturally competent, and excellent customer service will come to you naturally.

You'll have a great telephone manner, strong administration skills and an excellent awareness of the need for confidentiality of patient records and information. As part of a tight-knit team, you will be self-motivated with good organisational skills and be a participatory team member.

You will need to have the flexibility to be able to cover occasional rostered afternoon shifts. You will also need to be able to work in other clinics throughout the region; on occasion, this may see you staying away overnight.

Salary range

This role belongs to the Te Whatu Ora and PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical CA (2023-2025) and falls between Step 1 ($77,087) to Step 7 ($107,600) p.a. pro-rata.
