About the role

We are looking for a Surgical Transcription Administrator to support the Orthopaedic Service based at Dunedin Hospital. This is a role that will provide an opportunity to demonstrate varied workload, working to strict deadlines. It relies heavily on technology; therefore, you must be confident around computer systems with the ability to type accurately with high attention to detail. You must also be conscious of working with the utmost discretion as you'll be privy to patient information.

This role will provide high quality transcription and administrative support to the Orthopaedics Service, contributing to efficient and effective service delivery.

About you

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills who will be able to provide timely and accurate administrative support to the Orthopaedic Service. Your background will be varied in administration positions, and you will be able to help facilitate the efficient functioning of the service.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • the demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • at least two years administration and customer service experience
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • touch typists' skills with a typing speed above 65 words per minute
  • a flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workload
  • accuracy and attention to detail (essential)
  • excellent computer skills - proven experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook with the ability to learn other job specific programmes
