Multi-Disciplinary Meeting Coordinator at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Southern, Otago

  • Dunedin Hospital
  • Part time (0.6FTE) 24 hours a week
  • Monday to Friday inclusive, between the hours of 0800 hrs - 1700 hrs
  • Salary between $75,201 and $78,358 depending on experience per annum pro rata

About the role

The Multi-Disciplinary Meeting Coordinator will provide an efficient, high-quality coordinated service which facilitates cancer multi-disciplinary meetings designed to provide optimal service delivery to patients.

Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure documentation associated with the cancer multi-disciplinary meetings is maintained accurately and available within a timely period
  • Ensure all relevant and pertinent information for the meeting is appropriately documented and available to attendees prior to the scheduled meeting
  • Maintain electronic patient record systems accurately.
  • Complete all electronic data entry accurately and in a timely manner
  • The Multi-Disciplinary Meeting Coordinator supports Faster Cancer Treatment through assisting with key work such as prospectively tracking patients and processing key diagnostic and treatment milestones using the electronic Faster Cancer Treatment solution
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels that support robust, cohesive and effective information distribution.
  • Establish, facilitate and manage multi-disciplinary meetings from which patient management plans are formulated, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are informed
  • Support Faster Cancer Treatment, a Ministry of Health initiative, by prospectively tracking patients and processing key milestones on the Faster Cancer Treatment pathway using the electronic solution

About you

We are looking for a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people and tasks, often all at the same time!

Our ideal candidate will:

  • have a background in health or health administration
  • have previous experience working in a clerical/client/professional liaison role, ideally within a healthcare environment
  • demonstrate proven computer literacy
  • have high attention to detail
  • maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • be able to work effectively under pressure
  • have strong organisational skills
  • be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
