Registered Nurse - South Community Mental Health Team at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Southern, Otago

  • Salary $81,683 - $106,739 p.a. pro-rata + KiwiSaver

About the role

In this role, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team based at Wakari Hospital, working in a case management capacity to deliver a supportive service to our clients. You'll work autonomously while being well embedded in a team of dedicated mental health professionals.

This role includes delivering focused nursing treatment and providing effective case management to a specific patient caseload, with the possibility of crisis work. We will support you by providing an orientation to the role, along with ongoing education and training opportunities.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • New Zealand registration with a scope of practice that allows you to work in mental health, and a current APC with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Previous experience working with people with serious mental illness, ideally in a community setting
  • A demonstrated commitment to best practice standards, with a model of practice inclusive of the seven Real Skills of Let's Get Real (www.tepou.co.nz)
  • A strong sense of self and a demonstrated commitment to working cohesively within a large and dynamic multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to problem-solve and remain calm under pressure
  • A current full driver's licence
