About the role
The District Efficiency Improvement Reporting and Development Lead plays a pivotal role within the Office of the Group Director Operations, leading the District's Efficiency Improvement Programme (EIP) to drive sustainable performance, productivity and quality outcomes across Hospital and Specialist Services. This role provides governance, assurance and high-quality insight to support executive decision-making, coordinates complex, cross-service initiatives, and enables a culture of continuous improvement aligned to Pae Ora, equity commitments and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
In this role you will:
- lead and provide governance, oversight and assurance of the District Efficiency Improvement Programme, ensuring a consistent, repeatable approach to delivery
- establish performance, accountability and reporting frameworks, including dashboards and metrics, providing a single source of truth for decision-making
- deliver high-quality programme, project and financial reporting to the Group Director Operations and governance forums
- partner with general managers, clinical and operational leaders to identify and deliver operational and financial improvement opportunities
- ensure auditable achievement of efficiency and sustainability targets
- coordinate cross-district and regional alignment, working closely with the Regional EIP Lead and contributing to communities of practice
- build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, fostering collaboration across services and organisations.
About you
You are a strategic, analytically strong leader with extensive experience delivering complex improvement programmes in large, service-based organisations, ideally within the health sector.
You will:
- bring credibility with senior leaders
- bring the ability to translate complex data and performance information into clear, actionable insight that drives sustainable change
- have proven experience leading large-scale programmes, performance reporting and data governance in complex environments
- be a strong systems thinker with highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- have the demonstrated ability to provide assurance, influence senior decision-makers and support executive-level decision-making
- be a highly effective communicator, able to prepare clear, persuasive briefings and engage confidently with diverse senior stakeholders.
