Registered Mental Health Nurse - Co Response Team

  • Dunedin Hospital,
  • Permanent, part-time role 0.5 FTE / 40 hours per fortnight
  • Salary band - $81,863 to $106,739 pa pro-rata

About the role

This role is in our Co Response Team made up of Registered Nurses and Police. The aim of a co-response service is to enable people presenting with mental health crisis to receive the most appropriate response in the right setting for their needs. The service will mean more patients can be assessed and provided therapeutic care in a home or community setting rather than being transported to an emergency department or police station.

We are particularly interested in hearing from clinicians with exceptional crises assessment skills and who can work with the other partners in this new service in a cohesive way that maximises its success. You need to have a proven track record of being a team player while at the same time practicing at top of scope.

It would be an advantage if you a familiar with the Dunedin city area and have a good knowledge of what services are available locally to support people who are in crises. If you like variety this could be the perfect fit for you!

About you

As a Registered Nurse with recent experience working in Mental Health, you will be able to put your knowledge and skills to good use assisting the team to provide emergency mental health assessments.

You must be Registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council, hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate which allows you to work in mental health and be eligible to live and work in New Zealand.
