About the team
Join our maternity team to make a real difference to the experience of new parents, their babies, and their families and whānau.
Within the core midwifery environment, no two days will be the same and you will be involved in the full scope of midwifery practice during your time here. We have a women-centred approach to our care, and you will be making a real difference to the patient experience. This core midwife role would suit a Registered Midwife who is team-focused and enjoys getting involved in a variety of tasks to ensure the very best care is provided at all times.
About you
To succeed in this role you will need to:
- be a Registered Midwife
- hold a current annual practising certificate
- have excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people from all walks of life
- be passionate about midwifery and have a genuine desire to provide the best care possible.

About the team
We consider ourselves very fortunate here at the Queen Mary Maternity Unit. Not only do we get to care for women and families from across our diverse region, we also work alongside kind, compassionate, and dedicated midwives and other health professionals to provide a safe and positive birthing experience.
Each year we support around 1,800 births and work closely with the midwifery and medical schools to deliver the high standard of care our patients deserve.

Salary range
This role falls under the terms and conditions of the MERAS Midwives Collective Agreement (1 February 2024 - 30 April 2025), Registered (Core) Midwives Salary Scale, between Step 2 and Step 7, $82,642 to $108,008 per annum, pro-rata.
