About the role
This senior leadership role provides strategic and operational direction for Allied Health Services, ensuring contemporary, patient-focused models of care are delivered across the district.
You will:
- lead and support professional leaders
- strengthen multidisciplinary partnerships
- drive excellence in clinical standards, workforce development, and service performance
- champion integrated care
- optimise resources
- contribute to system-wide planning to achieve safe, effective, and equitable health outcomes
- provide strategic and operational leadership to deliver high-quality, patient-centred allied health services
- lead, mentor, and develop allied health professional leaders to practice at the top of scope
- partner with clinical and operational leaders to strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and service integration
- drive clinical quality, safety, and continuous improvement across hospital and community settings
- contribute to organisational planning, resource management, and achievement of district and regional objectives.
About you
You are an experienced and values-driven allied health leader with a strong track record of delivering strategic and operational excellence across complex health environments. You bring deep sector knowledge, a commitment to equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality, patient-focused outcomes. With a collaborative leadership style, you influence at senior levels, foster professional growth, and champion best practice, safety, and continuous improvement across services.
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant postgraduate qualification and current registration/practising certification (where applicable), with at least 10 years experience
- Proven senior leadership experience with strong knowledge of clinical quality, best practice, and health system delivery
- Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and advancing equitable health outcomes
- Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to influence across clinical, operational, and community stakeholders
- High levels of integrity, adaptability, and accountability, with a focus on developing people and driving service excellence
