Registered Nurse - Acute Oncology/Haematology Inpatient Ward at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Southern, Otago

  • Permanent, part-time role (0.5 FTE, 40 hours per fortnight)
  • Salary band $81,000 - $106,000 p.a pro rata + KiwiSaver

About the role

These ward-based positions involve the care of medical oncology, radiation oncology, and haematology patients receiving chemotherapy, supportive, or radiation therapy.

Key nursing tasks may include:

  • comprehensive patient assessment
  • administration of chemotherapy and associated supportive therapies or procedures
  • symptom control and management
  • patient education
  • psychosocial assessment and support.

  • ideally have, or are working towards, current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council
  • have demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • have excellent time management, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • are adaptable, flexible, and solution-focused
  • have previous acute oncology/haematology experience.

Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA, and the salary will be in accordance with the RN Pay Scale, between Step 2 ($81,683) and Step 7 ($106,739) p.a, dependent on relevant experience.
