Mō te tūranga - About the role

Our Emergency department's (ED) vision is to be a centre of clinical care and customer service excellence. The ED has a strong focus on customer service and its success is reliant on effective communication and teamwork. The Emergency department includes a triage area, a rapid assessment area, dedicated resuscitation areas, acute, sub-acute and paediatric cubicles along with ambulatory care spaces. It carries out all acute cares for adults and paediatrics including full patient resuscitation facilities, management of trauma, fractures, injuries and so much more.

We are interested in hearing from enthusiastic Registered Nurses who would be able to adapt to any situation. This really is the role which will offer variety and pace. All shifts are 24/7 - includng night shifts. We prefer our casual staff to be available all year round so if you appreciate flexibility and enjoy a fast-paced environment, this may be the role for you!

We're looking for Nurses who are experienced and organised, friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team.

To be considered, the candidates must have or demonstrate:

  • current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand
  • the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • the ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
  • previous experience in an acute setting would be an advantage.
