We are seeking highly motivated registered nurses to join our friendly team in Dunedin Hospital on a permanent, part-time basis.
About the service
The Oncology/Haematology Service is a busy, challenging and rewarding place to work, and comprises of the acute Oncology/Haematology in-patient ward, the Oncology Day Unit and the Outpatient Clinics and Radiation Therapy treatment areas.
About the role - What's in it for me?
These ward-based positions involve the care of medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology patients receiving chemotherapy, supportive or radiation therapy. Some of the key nursing tasks are: comprehensive patient assessment; administration of chemotherapy and associated supportive therapies or procedures; symptom control and management; patient education; and psychosocial assessment and support.
We're looking for nurses who are experienced and organised, friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team.
- Must have current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
- Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
- Previous acute Oncology/Haematology experience is preferable, and you must have at least one years' experience as a Registered Nurse
