Registered Nurse - Acute Mental Health 9c at Southern District Health Board (Invercargill/Dunedin), Otago

Ward 9C is a busy open 16 bed inpatient facility comprising of 2 acute youth beds and 14 acute adult beds with dedicated staff providing 24 hour care. The service caters to clients who have been assessed as requiring a period of increased assessment, investigations and/or interventions that cannot be safely provided for in the community. Admissions come via Community Mental Health teams or the Emergency Psychiatric Service, and cover of all the major psychiatric diagnoses.

Are you a Registered Nurse with recent Mental Health nursing experience looking for a new opportunity? We have a position available working casually to suit you and your lifestyle. As a Registered Nurse in Ward 9c you will provide care for patients with the full range of general adult mental health disorders, including youth, mothers and babies, and eating disorders.

We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who are dynamic, innovative and wish to join a service that is committed to high standards of practice and supports ongoing professional development.

The role is busy and diverse and will require someone who has a good general mental health background with experience in the acute mental health sector.

If you are keen to make a difference and join us in facilitating our group programme as well as working in partnership with individuals, this could be the role for you.

Candidates must be New Zealand Registered Nurses and hold a current APC as well as a scope of practice that enables you to work in Mental Health. You will also require a full driver's licence.
