Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about surgical nursing? Good news! We are looking for Registered Nurses to join us in permanent roles in our Surgical Ward teams at Dunedin Hospital.

The work in our Surgical wards is varied and interesting and you will have many opportunities to develop professionally. Mō mātou - About us
Ward 3 Surgical is a 54 bed specialist surgery ward covering Acute and Elective Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Rheumatology, ENT, Ophthalmology and Maxillofacial specialities.
Ward 4A is a 24 bed General Surgery ward, with a co-located six-bed High Dependency Unit attached. Ward 4A specializes in upper and lower GI and colorectal Surgery and provides for both elective and acute surgical admissions.
Ward 4C is a 25 bed general surgical ward specialising in vascular, urology, plastics, breast and gynaecology and provides for both elective and acute surgical admissions.
Mōu ake - About you
The successful applicant will need to have recent surgical nursing experience, ideally, in the specialities listed above, be able to demonstrate resilience, will not mind putting in some hard work and be open and willing to up-skill as required.
You will also have the following:
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
- Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
- A friendly demeanour, excellent communication skills and be someone who values patient centred care
In return you will gain great work experience in a multidisciplinary team and the opportunity to either showcase or develop your skills in a variety of surgical specialties.
