Mō te tūranga - About the role
Are you an experienced and energetic Clinical Psychologist? Come join our dynamic community rehabilitation team. You would have the opportunity to work with community patients under the age of 65 with neurological conditions to support their rehabilitation potential. We work closely with the under 65 inpatient unit, Puawai. At times there may be some requirement to cover the ward.
You will be part of an experienced supportive team including Social Work, Physiotherapy, Speech/Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Neuropsychology. We provide 12-week blocks of rehabilitation for clients that need a team approach; you will work closely with your peers and support both the patient and the team to provide timely support in our patient's rehabilitation journey.
Your clients, who have neurological and/or physical disorders, will benefit from your experience and ability to work in a wider interdisciplinary team, where you will be responsible for assisting them to meet their rehabilitation goals.
You will also be assessing patients/clients emotional state, and working therapeutically with them and the team as appropriate to the setting.
This post is a community position working in a clinic setting or the patient's own home. You would be one of four psychologists within younger person's rehabilitation services. The post has an attractive allocated budget and study leave allocation for continuing professional development.
Mōu ake - About you
Ideally, you'll bring to us experience in working in an interdisciplinary team with clients of all ages with neurological disabilities. It is essential that you bring excellent time management and communication skills.You'll be adaptable and flexible allowing you to work effectively with your clients and within a changing health environment.
You would be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of optimising patient outcomes and facilitating effective discharge planning, using a patient centred and evidence based approach to goal setting and intervention.
In addition, you will have enthusiasm and a willingness to commit to our team and patients. You will be expected to be active in service quality initiatives, therefore be proactive, innovative and have a quality driven leadership approach.
The colleagues you will work with in this team mean you could have the opportunity to me mentored in neuropsychology, if you had the desire to work towards you NP dip grad in the future.
Applicants must have a New Zealand Masters in Clinical Psychology or overseas equivalent qualification, and hold a current practising certificate. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Multi Employer Collective and falls between $77,478 (Step 1) - $111,719 (Step 10) per annum plus Kiwisaver.
