Healthcare Assistant - 4th Floor Outpatients at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, Otago

Learn on the job where you will be assisting patients within our 4th floor outpatients department. This exciting role offers opportunity to experience the rewarding environment in healthcare.

Mō te tūranga - About the role

Due to a busy period our Outpatients Department offers a highly varied workload and the opportunity to work alongside multi-disciplinary teams.

Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will support the team through forward thinking and bring new sustainable ideas to increase efficiency:

  • Supporting our nurses and other members of the health care team
  • Meet and greet patients
  • Assisting patient care under the delegation of a Registered Nurse
  • Stock reconciliation
  • Note preparation for clinics

Hours of work will be Monday and Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm.

This team will be the first to transition to the new hospital once completed. There is already internal drive towards sustainability and increasing the use of technology, we want someone who can help accelerate this.

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the expired NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between step 1 and Step 5 of the HCA scale.
