Physiotherapist - Rotational at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, Otago

Salary Band: $59,035 - $85,992 p.a for fulltime + Kiwisaver + on-site employee gym

  • Full-time (1.0 FTE), 40 hours per week

Mō te tūranga - About the role

We are looking for a physiotherapist to join our rotational staff programme for a one year fixed-term period. Please note whilst this is initially a fixed-term position, there may be further opportunities for motivated and committed candidates.

The rotational programme at Dunedin Hospital comprises of six-monthly rotations across all areas of acute inpatient services (including medical and acute stroke, respiratory, surgical, critical care, orthopaedics, emergency department, medical assessment unit and paediatrics), rehabilitation (inpatient and community), outpatients physiotherapy and community. The rotation changes are in February and August and for this fixed-term role you are likely to be place in acute inpatient area.

Please note this role requires you to participate in weekend and on-call rosters.

Our ideal candidate will be hardworking, enthusiastic, and self-directed, keen to grow their knowledge and skills across a range of clinical areas offered within Te Whatu Ora Southern Hospitals. We prefer candidates who will be open to be placed in any rotation and/or work in either of our hospitals as and when required.

You will be keen to develop skills to work autonomously in a variety of settings listed above which include respiratory wards, and intensive/critical/high-dependency care. Prioritising your own learning goals and professional development plan for each rotation is an absolute requirement when required.

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($59,035 p.a) and Step 8 ($85,992 p.a pro rata) of the Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
