Salary band - $72,061 to $95,340 pa pro-rata + Kiwisaver

Ward 6C is a 12-bed acute assessment and treatment unit for people aged over 65 years with an array of mental health (along with some physical health) needs, located in Dunedin Hospital.

Mō te tūranga - About the role - Mōu ake - About you

You will be a dynamic registered nurse with a strong knowledge base being essential to meeting the challenge of caring for older people in a mental health environment. Previous mental health experience is highly regarded.

You will need to have high standards of competence and performance while enjoy the challenge of working with patients in this unique and varied setting. Overall you will aim to offer a safe and supervised environment to assess patients' needs while providing treatment during their admission.

We are seeking someone who is warm, empathetic, responsive and highly attuned to the emotions, needs and motivations of older people.

You will be a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate. All applicants must have a Mental health scope of practice to allow for working within this sector - more information can be found at http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/Nurses/Scopes-of-practice
