Health Care Assistant - Emergency Department

Dunedin Hospital

Salary band - $50,000 - $65,000 p.a prorata plus Kiwisaver

Mō te tūranga - About the role

Our Emergency Department is a very busy service. We have a triage area, a rapid assessment area, dedicated resuscitation areas, acute, sub-acute and paediatric cubicles. Our department carries out all acute care, including full patient resuscitation facilities, management of trauma, fractures, injuries etc. It is expected that the successful candidates will participate in all aspects of the roster, including weekends and night shifts as we operate 24/7. It is therefore important you have the flexibility to commit to these rostered shifts.

As Health Care Assistant you will be involved in:

  • supporting our nurses and other members of the health care team
  • patient movement
  • patient cares, as required.
  • stock reconciliation
  • ward maintenance
  • patient watch/supervision, with one-on-one care as required.

Utu whānui -Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($51,770 p.a) and step 5 ($61,540 p.a prorata) of the HCA scale
