Clinical Nurse Specialist - Renal/Nephrology at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, Otago

Mō te tūranga - About the role

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will:

  • specialise in Peritoneal dialysis care
  • mentor staff as they gain renal and peritoneal knowledge and skills
  • collaborate across the organisation
  • develop in the roles of PD nurse specialist clinician, educator, leader/change agent, quality improvement and assurance, care coordinator/case manager and patient, family, whanau advocate
  • pursue clinical excellence and improve health outcomes
  • have rostered days Monday to Friday between 0800 and 1700, exact times to be negotiated.

If you are not yet at a specialist nurse level, you may also be employed in a 2-year training programme for Registered Nurse to Clinical Nurse Specialist.

You will have:

  • eligibility to work in NZ with current APC
  • proven clinical credibility and experience in oncology/haematology nursing
  • excellent group facilitation skills
  • advanced communication techniques such as conflict resolution, diffusion, and mediation skills.
  • a dynamic personality and great communication and time management skills.

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($101,089 p.a) and Step 3 ($111,695 p.a prorata) of the Designated Senior Nurse Scale, Grade 2.
