Mō te tūranga - About the role
- Ward 6C is a 12 bed acute assessment and treatment unit for people aged over 65 years with an array of mental health (along with some physical health) needs
- Safe and supervised environment assessing patients needs while providing treatment during their admission
- Mornings - 7am to 3.30pm, afternoons - 2.30pm to 11pm, nights - 10.45pm to 7.15am
- Rosters are rotating and generated every four weeks and usually cover four weeks
Mōu ake - About you
- You will be a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
- Have a Mental health scope of practice to allow for working within this sector - more information can be found at http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/Nurses/Scopes-of-practice
- You will be dynamic, with a strong knowledge base being essential to meeting the challenge of caring for older people in a mental health environment
- Previous mental health experience is highly regarded.
- We are seeking someone who is warm, empathetic, responsive and highly attuned to the emotions, needs and motivations of older people
