We have a new opportunity available for a Registered Oral Health Therapist to work as part of our Community Oral Health Service.
Mō te tūranga - About the role
You will be responsible for maintaining the oral health of children in our region, educating children and their families on oral health and the prevention of dental disease. You will recognise, diagnose and treat oral abnormalities and disease within your scope of practice.
You will work alongside a Dental Assistant as part of a supportive and friendly team who is committed to delivering quality health services for our tamariki.

We are looking for enthusiastic team-players who are keen to grow their knowledge and skills with a proactive approach towards learning. Excellent communication, natural empathy for children and great interpersonal skills are essential.
You will need to have the flexibility to be able to cover occasional rostered evening shifts. You will also need to be able to work in other clinics throughout the region; on occasion, this may see you staying away overnight.
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Registration or be able to gain registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand as an Oral Health Therapist/Dental Therapist
- A current APC or the ability to apply for one
- A full clean NZ driver's licence

This role belongs to the PSA Allied, Public Health Scientific and Technical Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($59,035 p.a) and Step 7 ($83,030 p.a pro-rata).
