Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Simulation Technician you will work under the guidance of the Practice Development Unit Nurse Manager, and with the OCSL Operations Coordinator to provide support and assistance with the delivery, and development of all new and existing clinical skills and simulation-based learning programmes at Dunedin Hospital.
The role forms a vital part of education for staff and students.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- knowledge and ability to use audio-visual capture equipment
- maintain a database of equipment, maintenance, configuration, testing, calibration, repair and cleaning
- collaboration with different Managers and end users to support their training.

To be successful in this position, you will also need to demonstrate the following:
- An outgoing and friendly manner and being comfortable interacting with healthcare staff and Management both in person and on the phone
- Ability to run groups and communicate with groups
- Positive team worker and a willingness to learn new skills
- Be adept at using your initiative
- Good grounding in basic computer skills and AV equipment
- You understand and can demonstrate clear boundaries with regards to all aspects of privacy
You will need to be adaptable and flexible allowing you to work effectively with your team within a changing health environment.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the DHB/PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement, non-degree salary Scale - Group B and falls between Step 3 ($72,074 p.a pro rata) and Step 7 ($86,719 p.a pro rata)
