Mō te tūranga - About the role
You'll be part of a team providing a full range of specialist acute and elective surgery to patients, providing comprehensive elective general orthopaedic services, as well as 24-hour Orthopaedic Trauma and Orthopaedic Emergency care.
The scope of your work will be varied and will include exposure to a range of subspecialties including the following:
- Trauma surgery
- Foot and Ankle Surgery
- Joint replacement
- Sports Medicine
- Orthopaedic Surgery
- Spinal surgery
- Occupational Medicine
- Paediatric Orthopaedics
- Upper Limb Surgery
- Scoliosis surgery

Mōu ake - About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz
- a minimum of two years post qualification and possess a strong interest in progressing their Orthopaedic careers and be keen to become a participating member of the team.
It is requirement of the Medical Council of New Zealand that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand, it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion. Utu whānui - Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association & 20 DHB Multi Employer Collective 18 June 2024 – 31 July 2026 (NZRDA SECA) and Specialty Trainees of New Zealand and 20 District Health Boards Multi Employer Collective Agreement 14 February 2024 – 28 February 2026 (the STONZ SECA) and the salary will fall between $160,955 – $240,440 dependent on relevant experience
