Ngā kawenga | About the role
Bail Support Services (BSS) is an opt in service that provides individuals with support and opportunities for positive change as they progress through the criminal justice system. The service can be accessed in courts, prisons, and the community when individuals apply for or seek to maintain EM Bail.
If bail is granted, Bail Support Services provides the support necessary for people to succeed on bail. BSS will deliver a service that is centred around the person and their whanau. We commit to intervening at the earliest stage of someone's journey through the Justice Service. Working alongside the individual to empower them and their whanau with defence counsel, Iwi Mana Whenua alongside community and government social service providers support, to prepare bail proposals, and develop bail support plans.

We're looking for people who're passionate about making a real difference for people and their whanau and comfortable working in an often dynamic and fast paced environment. You'll be strongly connected to your community, ideally with experience in social services provision, NGO sector and/or justice sector organisations.

To be successful you'll:

- naturally be a problem solver and divergent thinker
- have good attention to detail, able to gather a wide range of information and demonstrate sound professional decision making.
- be highly motivated and self-managing with excellent time management and organisation skills.
- be able to write quality reports, have excellent computer skills and quickly pick up new systems and processes.
You will also need a Full New Zealand Driver Licence.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The salary range is between $58,359 to $72,329. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
