  • Salary Band - Step 2 - $81,683 to Step 7 - $106,739 pa pro-rata + kiwi-saver + free carpark

About the Role

Our Inpatient Mental Health Unit is a 16-bed purpose-built facility that supports people from across Southland requiring acute mental health care and treatment.   Our multi-disciplinary team works in close partnership with our community teams, and local education providers to facilitate a working environment that is supportive and reflects evidence of ongoing professional growth whilst meeting the needs of a diverse population with mental illness.

About you

As a Mental Health Inpatient Acute Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals experiencing acute mental health needs. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support recovery, promote safety, and uphold dignity and respect at every stage of care.

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
  • Experience in mental health nursing (acute setting preferred, but not essential)
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A calm, adaptable approach in high-pressure situations
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented and culturally safe practice
