About the role
Kickstart your midwifery career in the Southern region, where you'll be supported to grow, learn, and thrive. Our 12-month MFYP programme (0.8 FTE, with flexibility to 0.6) offers hands-on experience across a variety of settings—from tertiary hospitals to primary and rural maternity units.
You'll rotate through antenatal, labour and birth, and postnatal care, with opportunities to experience caseload midwifery and work within a well-connected maternity system. With strong clinical support and a tailored orientation, you'll build confidence quickly while making a real difference for whānau.
Our Director of Midwifery, Midwife Managers, Educators, Clinical Coaches and midwives will support you through your journey in caring for our whānau. We provide a comprehensive and flexible orientation package. We are a close knit creative and passionate community of midwives. Collegiality and values are important to us.

About You
We are looking for New Graduate midwives who have an exceptional commitment to quality care and enjoy being involved in a variety of tasks to ensure the very best care is provided at all times.
What you will bring:
Completed (or completing) a Bachelor of Midwifery in 2025 or 2026
Passionate about midwifery and committed to ongoing learning
Strong communication skills and a desire to build meaningful relationships with whānau
A team player who values diversity, integrity, and collaboration

Salary range
As per the MERAS Midwives Collective Agreement (1 June 2025 – 31 October 2027), Step 2 ($84,295) per annum, pro rata.
