Casual Enrolled Nurse - District Nursing at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Southern, Southland

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Enrolled Nurse who is available on an as and when required basis to help support our team.

Tasks for this district nursing role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for providing care to a diverse range of patients in the community
  • Contribute to nursing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care for health consumers and/or families/whānau. The Registered Nurse maintains overall responsibility for the plan of care
  • Assist health consumers with nursing care activities, observe changes in health consumers' conditions and report these to the Registered Nurse
  • Undertake other nursing care responsibilities appropriate to their assessed competence
  • Work in partnership with health consumers, families/whānau and multidisciplinary teams

About you

Our ideal candidate will:

  • be passionate, committed and, most importantly, have a positive attitude
  • have some previous experience in a surgical, medical or community setting (desirable but not essential)
  • be capable of working autonomously
  • have a reasonable level of fitness required to cope with the demanding physical requirements of the job
  • Have a full, clean driver's licence (essential)
