Anaesthetic Technician at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, Southland

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Southland Hospital, New Zealand

Full-time (1.0 FTE) positions available Have you been thinking about a lifestyle change? Want to work in a state-of-the-art-facility?

Feel like you're in limbo? After the year that was you may feel a bit stuck. So, if it's time to get things moving, set your sights lower, way, way down to one of NZ's most picturesque regions, where work-life balance is really real, and you can have your own little patch of paradise. It's time to go low.

Right now, Southern DHB are looking to relocate enthusiastic, skilled Anaesthetic Technicians to Invercargill. Interested?

Go low for career highs

We're after passionate, conscientious technicians who are excited by a challenge and always keen to lend a hand.

Whether you're just starting out in your career and craving some action, or have more experience under your belt, this could be the work fit you're looking for. Servicing a broad catchment area of the South Island, Invercargill hospital will give you great exposure to a large amount of trauma cases, plus the ability to rotate across a wide variety of specialities within the hospital. In a smaller hospital you'll find plenty of opportunity to grow your skills and progress your career. Benefit from the wisdom of senior AT's or impart your own knowledge to help mentor the younger team, and if you're motivated to lead, you could move up, fast. Plus, you'll enjoy the latest, state of the art equipment and brand-new hospital facilities.

The workplace energy here in Southland is more real mates than work mates. You'll join a friendly, close-knit bunch who love socialising both inside and outside of work, so you'll feel right at home from the get-go.

The day to day down here

As an experienced AT, you know the drill. Working alongside our Anaesthetists, as well as Doctors and Nurses, you'll assist with surgeries, and the odd bit of Operating Theatre set up. You may even help administer blood pressure and other medications on occasion too. Working on a rotating roster basis, you'll find shifts are usually around 8-10 hours, so along with a stable full-time work structure you'll have plenty of room to get out and do life - especially since that beaming Southland sun has been known to stick around as late as 10pm!

Down where things are looking up

If you're looking for a refreshing pace change, you'll find it in more than just your workday. Southland truly offers the ultimate access to the kiwi lifestyle dream. Away from the big city bustle, the dream of home ownership a reality, and you'll never sit in traffic again. And whether you're a thrill seeker looking to spend your days off hiking, fishing or hitting the slopes, or you're more interested in the serenity of hundreds of km's of wide-open space, you'll find your fit way down here.

So how low can you go? If it's an exciting move you crave, let's talk - there's never been a better time to look down. Working in Southland video
