Registered Nurse - Nursing Resource Unit (Casual) at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, Southland

If you are looking for a new challenge and enjoy variety in your work, then our Nursing Resource Unit wants to speak to you! Our Nursing Resource Unit at Southland Hospital has a pool of Registered Nurses who work across all wards of the hospital, and we are inviting applications for experienced and motivated Registered Nurses to join us on a casual basis.

Mō te tūranga - About the role

We are interested in hearing from experienced Registered Nurses who would be able to adapt to any ward situation, and really hit the ground running.

All roles include rostered rotating shifts 24/7 - incl. night shifts. We require our casual staff to be available all year round so if you have full year flexibility and would enjoy being a casual, this may be the role for you!

Mōu ake - About you

We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses who are confident in their abilities and have one or more areas of nursing expertise. The ideal candidates will also be organised, friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team.

To be considered the candidates must have or demonstrate the following:

  • Must have current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
  • New Zealand nursing experience would also be a definite advantage

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the DHB/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 2 ($72,061 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 7 ($95,340 p.a. pro-rata) of the Registered Nurses Scale.
