Do you want to try something different? We have a wide range of opportunities available which are unique to a hospital setting. If you are PACT qualified, we have opportunities for you to use those skills and we are also looking to develop our technicians to undertake clinical activities to support our pharmacists. For example these clinical activities could include patient counselling and patient medication history taking. Ideally you will have experience, however if you are new to this field and have a strong willingness to learn and would be interested in undertaking the necessary training and we would love to hear from you.

The Pharmacy service provides a full clinical and operational service to Southland Hospital. We provide a wide range of clinical services encompassing both generalist and specialist skills so there is no better place to move your career forward. Mo te turanga / About the Role
The role will include stock control, ward supply, in and out patient dispensing, non-sterile compounding, and assisting in the general day to day running of the dispensary. This role will be Monday to Friday (as well as a rostered Saturday morning 9-12).

Hospital experience is preferred although not essential, and you will possess strong time management, planning, and organisational skills. Naturally, you will be an excellent communicator, and a trusted and positive team player. It is also essential you can pick things up quickly, perform in an accurate and precise manner and work well within a diverse and ever-changing environment.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have the following:
- Appropriate New Zealand recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification (or committed to completing the training)
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
- Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
- High levels of personal and professional integrity
