Mō te tūranga - About the role

Our Emergency Department at Southland Hospital is an extremely busy service, and provides care for approximately 38,500 attendances every year. We are faced with a wide and varied range of admissions, from fractures to severe traumas. We are inviting applications from experienced and motivated registered nurses to join us on a casual basis.

We have a state of the art facility that is recognised as a centre of excellence in emergency care. We pride ourselves on having a strong focus on customer service and our success is reliant on effective communication and teamwork. If you would like to be part of our team on a casual basis, have relevant emergency department or trauma/acute care experience then we would welcome your application.

Position Description

Mōu ake - About you

To succeed in this role you must have the following:

  • Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
  • Previous ED/acute experience is essential, and you must have at least one years' experience as a Registered Nurse

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the DHB/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 2 ($72,061 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 7 ($95,340 p.a. pro-rata) Registered Nurses Salary Scale
