Mō te tūranga - About the role

We're after passionate, conscientious technicians who are excited by a challenge and always keen to lend a hand.

Whether you are just starting out in your career and craving some action, or have more experience under your belt, this could be the work fit you're looking for. Servicing a broad catchment area of the lower South Island, Invercargill hospital will give you great exposure to a large amount of trauma cases, plus the ability to rotate across a wide variety of specialities within the hospital. In a smaller hospital you'll find plenty of opportunity to grow your skills and progress your career. Benefit from the wisdom of senior AT's or impart your own knowledge to help mentor the younger team, and if you're motivated to lead, career opportunities await you. Plus, you'll enjoy the latest, state of the art equipment and modern hospital facilities.

Mōu ake - About you

As an experienced AT, you know the drill. Working alongside our Anaesthetists, as well as Doctors and Nurses, you'll assist with surgeries, and the odd bit of Operating Theatre set up. You may even help administer blood pressure and other medications on occasion too. Working on a rotating roster basis, you'll find shifts are usually around 8-10 hours, so along with a stable full-time work structure you'll have plenty of room to get out and do life - especially since that beaming Southland sun has been known to stick around as late as 10pm!

You must also already be registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand or be eligible to do so and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate.

Mō mātou - About us

If you are looking for a refreshing pace change, you'll find it in more than just your workday. Southland truly offers the ultimate access to the kiwi lifestyle dream. Away from the big city bustle, the dream of home ownership can still be a reality, and you'll never sit in traffic again with a 10 - 15 minute commute to the hospital from anywhere in the city.
