Mō te tūranga - About the role
We wish to employ a suitably qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide clinic-based health assessments/treatment, community-based district nursing and 24/7 PRIME call outs. This is a 24/7 Monday to Friday service based in rural Southland, accommodation included. Primarily this community focused role is based in Tokanui but you may also be required to cover Stewart Island from time to time. This is a role that is varied, interesting and will have you utilising all of your nursing skills and knowledge.
Mōu ake - About you
You will be multi-skilled with specialist skills and be able to work in a variety of healthcare settings. There is a strong emphasis on primary care presentations. Applicants must have advanced assessment skills, strong communication and documentation skills as well as be computer literate. You will be PRIME qualified or be available to train for this competency. You must also be able to work alone.
Because you'll be driving when you are required to work in the community, a full, clean driver's licence is essential for this role.
You must be registered in accordance with the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 as a Registered Nurse and have a current practicing certificate. A minimum of 3 years post graduate nursing is also required.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the DHB/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($101,089 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 3 ($111,695) p.a. pro-rata of Grade 4 of the Senior Nurse Salary Scale.
