Mō te tūranga - About the role
This adult mental health role combines assessment and therapy for people experiencing moderate to severe psychological distress. The Clinical Psychologist is an integral and valued member of the multidisciplinary team responsible for the provision of patient-centred interventions.
We want a like-minded individual, to join our multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. You will provide a wide range of psychological services including risk assessment, diagnostics and testing, formulation and treatment planning, along with therapy.
You will work closely with consumers, family/whanau and community groups in a supportive, educational and clinical role that is firmly based upon the mental health recovery principles

You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team that ensures we provide our clients with assertive follow-up by maintaining contact with individuals through a key worker/case manager system. You will be a motivated individual, keen to make a difference and who thrives in a busy and diverse working environment. It goes without saying you will possess excellent communication, time management and team working skills and will be able to work well under pressure and stressful situations. Having experience of working with adult patients with mental illness in a community setting, this role which combines assessment, treatment and psychotherapy for people experiencing both acute and long-standing psychological conditions and issues.

You must be a Registered Clinical Psychologist with The NZ Psychologist's Board, hold a current practising certificate with a clinical scope and NZ driver's licence to apply for these roles. Eligibility to live and work in NZ is also a requirement.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the DHBs/APEX Psychologists Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($85,000 p.a) and Step 10 ($130,000 p.a pro-rata).
