Team Coordinator, Funding & Planning - Hauora Māori Service

About the Role

The Team Coordinator for Funding & Planning provides essential administrative and business support to ensure the smooth daily operations of the regional Funding & Planning team. Key responsibilities include managing workflows, coordinating with other support teams, overseeing office activities and events, and embedding effective procedures. The position requires strong collaboration across the organisation and the ability to role-model values such as manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, and rangatiratanga, fostering positive relationships and a supportive working environment.

About the Team/Service

As the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care.  The Clinical team provides Māori clinical leadership and fosters strong collaboration with Hauora Māori Chief Clinical Officers, National Directors, and partners to drive health gain and development. Their role includes planning, oversight, and professional advice to enable a whole-of-system approach for high-quality care for Māori.

About you

You possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. As a confident and clear communicator, you maintain a structured approach to managing a wide range of stakeholder relationships. Additionally, you demonstrate an ability to understand and incorporate te reo Māori in written and verbal communication, ensuring your interactions acknowledge its significance and application within our Māori kaupapa in the workplace.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in administrative or business support roles, ideally within a large organisation.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, with experience in applying Mātauranga Māori approaches
  • Experience engaging with Iwi, Hapū, Marae, Māori, and community groups, with participation in the health sector considered an advantage.
