About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with people experiencing mental illness within a community-based setting, delivering person-centred care and support that promotes recovery and wellbeing. The successful candidate will undertake specialist training to become a Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) under the Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992 and its amendments within their first year of employment. DAO responsibilities attract additional remuneration, paid on top of the Registered Nurse salary.

This is a Monday to Friday position, offering the opportunity to work collaboratively across community services while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As the role involves providing care and support within the community, a full driver's licence is essential.

About you

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be a New Zealand Registered Nurse with a scope of practice in Mental Health and a current APC
• Have recent mental health experience either in a community or inpatient setting
• Have a strong sense of ‘self', a positive ‘can do' attitude, along with a commitment to working cohesively in a dynamic multidisciplinary team
• Have excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
• The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
• Hold a current full New Zealand drivers licence
