Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Advisor with proven understanding of government rules of sourcing, managing All of Government contracts, and managing vehicle fleet and travel requirements within a government setting, to join our Corporate Services team.

This role reports to the Manager Commercial Services and is a blended operational and strategic role. You'll take ownership for creating, reporting, and analysing service agreements to drive value and cost savings specifically in fleet and travel categories.

You'll have the ability to build sound commercial relationships with key providers, and be capable of explaining and navigating different business interests to form workable solutions. At times you may be involved in internal working parties to support the continued development of the Motor Vehicle policy and procedures, at other times you'll sit on panels across government agencies to inform WorkSafe of practices that we need to change.

You will act as the back-up to the Manager Commercial Services in the national incident management programme, so a genuine interest in crisis or emergency management will be an advantage. Full training in this will be provided.

You can expect plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself, improve your skills and contribute to the organisation. Some travel may be required to attend and provide input into regional Health and Safety meetings and other working groups.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience working within the Government Rules of Sourcing
  • Travel and Fleet category management experience within a government setting
  • Experience providing robust insights and analysis for a Leadership audience.
  • Sound knowledge of the AoG contract framework.

If this sounds like you, and you'd like to join us for the next stage of transforming health and safety in New Zealand, then we'd like to hear from you.
