Job Description

WorkSafe New Zealand, Mahi Haumaru Aotearoa, is the primary workplace health and safety regulator – our vision is that everyone who goes to work comes home healthy and safe. Alongside other regulators we lead New Zealand to achieve healthy and safe workplaces through engagement, education and enforcement.

We're looking for an experienced Principal Advisor to provide thought leadership and high quality advice in relation to WorkSafe's performance system and to tell WorkSafe's performance story using data and other evidence. You will also work on cross-organisational projects like organisational strategy and funding initiatives.

Do you enjoy the intellectual challenge of managing complex and/or challenging projects? Do you provide robust analysis and advice? Do you enjoy measuring and telling the performance story so that management and stakeholders can see whether WorkSafe is making a difference? Are you able to build credible, respected relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders? If the answer is yes then this is the role for you.

You are a member of the wider Strategy and Performance Group which connects the Government's strategy to WorkSafe's strategy and monitors performance of these strategies.

You will be the subject matter expert in connecting WorkSafe's activities and impacts to our organisational goals, and understanding how WorkSafe contributes to the broader health and safety at work system. You will need to be able to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work and understand unfamiliar and complex issues. The key to success in this role will be the ability to think strategically, develop frameworks and manage organisation wide systems and processes.

If this sounds like something you have the skills and experience in and enjoy working in a fast paced environment, then you could be what we need.
