About your team / Ko te tīma 

You will be a key member of the Enterprise Architecture team, which sits within Digital & Information Services. 

Digital & Information Services supports WorkSafe in making informed technology decisions - investing where it adds value and leveraging common, easy‑to‑use systems that are well‑connected, secure, managed, and standardised. 

The team is committed to enabling WorkSafe through practical tools and fit‑for‑purpose systems, helping the organisation harness the power of digital technology to support healthy and safe workplaces. 

About the role / Ō te tūranga 

As a Solutions Architect at WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru, you'll help design and guide technology solutions that support the organisation's strategic direction. You'll define architecture standards, develop solution designs, and provide technical leadership across technology change initiatives. This role ensures WorkSafe adopts integrated, secure, and well‑aligned IT solutions that enable effective decision‑making and support modern, future‑focused ways of working. 

This role is a 12 month fixed‑term contract, with Wellington as the preferred location. 

What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi  

• Shape and define architecture requirements that align with WorkSafe's strategic tech direction and future needs.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to design modern, fit‑for‑purpose technology solutions and roadmaps.
• Produce clear, high‑quality solution designs and documentation that guide developers, suppliers, and project teams.
• Ensure technology changes are secure, compliant, and aligned with WorkSafe's architecture standards and governance processes.
• Drive innovation by researching emerging technologies and presenting pragmatic solution options that enhance WorkSafe's digital environment. 

What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu  

• Deep experience (10+ years) designing and delivering solutions in large or complex environments, with strong technical literacy across modern enterprise systems.
• A solid foundation of relevant qualifications - ideally tertiary study in IT or business, plus architecture training or industry certifications.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into practical, well‑designed technology solutions using recognised architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise technology, especially the Microsoft stack (Azure, Dynamics, O365), integration, security, networking, and cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, enabling you to work confidently with stakeholders, vendors, developers, and project teams.

Salary range / Awhe utu 

As part of our remuneration framework, the full salary range for this role is $138,259 -$182,456. (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our KiwiSaver employer contribution will rise to 3.5%.
