About your team / Ko te tīma
Regulatory Effectiveness is a new group established at WorkSafe to strengthen regulatory focus and improve how WorkSafe understands risk, designs interventions, and evaluates impact.
The Policy, Products and Services team plays a key role in shaping how WorkSafe supports healthier and safer workplaces across Aotearoa. Working across policy development, product design and system stewardship, the team brings together diverse expertise to deliver coordinated, impactful work. As Programme Coordinator, you'll work closely with leaders, advisors and delivery teams to ensure everyone is connected, informed and progressing towards shared goals.
About the role / Ō te tūranga
This is a great opportunity for a highly organised coordinator who enjoys bringing structure, visibility and momentum to complex programmes of work. You'll support the planning, coordination and tracking of activities across the Policy, Products and Services function, helping teams stay aligned, manage priorities and make informed decisions. Your work will provide the backbone that keeps critical initiatives moving forward. As a new function, this provides an exciting time to support building the tools and systems the team will need to be successful.
While Wellington is the preferred location for this role, we welcome applications from candidates based in any location across New Zealand.
What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi
- Coordinate programme activity across multiple teams and functions
- Connect people, information, and activities across teams to drive joined-up delivery
- Keep programme plans, timelines, and milestones on track and aligned to priorities
- Provide clear and accurate reporting that gives visibility of programme progress and outcomes
- Facilitate communication and information sharing across stakeholders
- Track and escalate programme risks, issues and actions
- Coordinate meetings, documentation, and programme and team administration
What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu
- Experience coordinating programmes, projects or complex initiatives
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with confidence
- Strong reporting, administration and organisational skills
- A talent for building relationships and coordinating work across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, accurate reporting
- Confidence using programme management tools and systems to maintain visibility of work, including monitoring progress, managing risks, and keeping key activities on track
- Bring a positive can-do approach and actively support the team as it establishes and to deliver results
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in programme coordination, administration or business support

Salary range / Awhe utu
As part of our remuneration framework, the full salary is $74,174 - $96,491 and the expected appointment base salary is $74,174-$81,612 (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our KiwiSaver employer contribution increased to 3.5%.
