New Grad/NETP Registered Nurse at Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections), Waikato

Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections) Health Services lead the delivery of patient-focused primary health care services to tangata within corrections facilities across Aotearoa.  Hōkai Rangi, our over-arching strategic direction, places the focus on health at the heart of our business.  Building our frameworks from a Matauranga Māori basis is our focus to drive and support equity for Māori, which in turn will contribute to achieving our outcomes of reducing reoffending.

We are seeking new grad/ NETP Registered Nurses for Spring Hill Corrections Facility, near Meremere, Hampton Downs.  

Nursing within a prison offers many unique opportunities to develop and practice skills in a wide range of clinical areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new graduate/ NETP Nurse to utilise and further develop their nursing skills whilst working as an integral part of a multidisciplinary health team. 

Our Health Centre operates a rostered shift system over 7 days from 6.00am – 10.00pm so flexibility is available to assist with study time.

To apply for this position, you will need to be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse, be eligible to work in New Zealand, hold a full New Zealand Drivers licence and be fully vaccinated.
