Business Service Adviser at Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections), Waikato

We are looking for an energised and engaged individual who is looking to kick start their career in business and finance advice and planning!

 

Ngā kawenga | About the role

The Business Service Adviser – based in Hamilton or Rotorua, will provide support to the Regional Manager FPT and the Regional Business and Finance Advisers.  You will support the development of and provide financial and non-financial advice to managers across the region in the areas of financial management, business planning and procurement.

 

He kōrero mōu | About you 

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A customer centric approach with developed business acumen
  • Experience in use of financial management and accounting systems
  • Experience in the use of Word, Excel and Power Point
  • A basic understanding of accountancy both theory and practical
  • A basic understanding of procurement
  • Excellent communication skills as you will be working with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to take financial and procurement concepts and explain them in simple language to the business
  • Enjoy problem solving and innovative solution finding

 

In this role you will be self-managing so you must be able to work independently, have drive and high energy levels, manage your workload efficiently, and have high personal standards.    This is a position that could be the pathway to a Business and Finance Adviser.

The position will require some day travel throughout the Region therefore a full NZ driving license is required. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a credit check.

 

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The midpoint of the salary range is $67,527 and the full range (85%-120%) is $57,398 - $81,032. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
