Contract Liaison Coordinator - Planning, Funding and Outcomes at Te Whatu Ora, Waikato

About the Role

As a Contracts Liaison Coordinator, you will be at the heart of ensuring smooth and effective contractual arrangements across your region. Your day will involve coordinating contract creation, monitoring performance, and providing technical advice to both providers and internal teams. You will manage provider queries, assist with drafting correspondence, maintain contract tracking systems, and ensure all agreements comply with organisational policies and standards. This is an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to improving health outcomes, advancing equity, and supporting high-quality service delivery across Aotearoa.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You will join the Te Manawa Takil contracts team at Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand, working collaboratively to support regional teams, providers, and commissioning functions. Our team values inclusivity, cultural safety, and reflective practice, providing a supportive environment where you can grow professionally while making a real difference in the health system. The role can be based in any one of Health New Zealand', regional offices in New Plymouth, Tauranga, Rotorua, Gisborne or Hamilton with opportunities to work across the region.  The role offers remote working, however the successful candidate will need to work in a Health New Zealand office at least three days a week.

You will have:

  • Experience in contracts administration, monitoring, or a similar function
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to provide clear technical advice and support to both internal teams and external providers
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its practical application in the health sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing queries, correspondence, and stakeholder relationships
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to contribute positively to team culture and organisational values
