Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
If you have a passion for working with children, and ideally have previous clinical experience in the child disability area we would love to hear from you. The CDS team is a dynamic team that works in an interdisciplinary manner and has strong links with the DHB paediatric services, allied health team, child mental health services and more widely, into the education sector and with other child services and NGOs. The Speech Language Therapist works closely with other team members to contribute a SLT perspective to assessment and diagnosis of children with developmental delay.
This is a permanent part time position working 16 hours per fortnight, between Monday to Friday, actual days and times to be agreed upon.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Our Child Development Services team works with children with disabilities to maximise their function and support their development. The team is based in Masterton and works across the Wairarapa region, seeing children and their whanau in outpatient clinics and community settings including home, pre-school and school environments.
Moū - About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant qualification in speech lanuage therapy that is recongised and approved by the New Zealand Speech Language Therapists Assocaition (NZSTA)
- Minimmum of three years clinical practice
- Member of NZSTA
- Experience in working with children with disability and their families
- Experience in the use of standardised speech and language assessments such as CELF-4 and PLS-5 Preschool Lanuage Scales
- Experience in the administration of the Autisum Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is desirable.
