Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Are you a registered mental health clinician (e.g. Child Psychotherapist, Social Work, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist or Registered Nurse) interested in working with children and adolescents experiencing mental health issues?
We are looking for self-motivated clinicians to join our multi-disciplinary team to work across both child and adolescent age groups.
This is a community based position, and includes care management, provision of therapeutic interventions and rostered after hours crisis work. You will work in innovative ways to support the recovery of tamariki and rangatahi and provide whanau interventions when indicated.
You will be able to provide comprehensive mental health assessments, work collaboratively with young people and their Whanau to develop meaningful and effective treatment plans and deliver effective evidence based treatment for young people.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provides a positive learning environment with clinical supervision and opportunities for professional development. We have strong links to CAMHS across the region and access to regional specialty services to support our local service provision.
The two positions available are 1x permanent full time 80 hours per fortnight and 1x part time 64 hours per fortnight working Monday to Friday.
This role is based at the Wairarapa DHB in Masterton. However, the role is part of the 3DHB MHAIDS service, and all MHAIDS employees are under the employment of Capital & Coast DHB.
Moū - About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- A registered health professional qualification such as social work, nursing, clinical psychology or occupational therapy.
- Registration with the relevant professional registration body (e.g., Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse, Registered Social Worker, Registered Clinical Psychologist, Registered Occupational Therapist).
- A current practising certificate at all times.
- Proven experience in working with specialist mental health issues and mental illness. Proven skills and experience in a variety of therapeutic approaches.
- Child and adolescent mental health experience.
- A commitment to EEO principles and the implication of these to Mental Health.
