Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are looking for midwives interested in returning to practice, who have a focus on providing and supporting the best possible outcomes for women and whanau who engage with our services. The return to practice midwife will be dedicated to develop and refresh their midwifery skills as identified individually and as outlined by the Midwifery Council of New Zealand. They will also be driven to work with us to strengthen the midwifery profession and help shape future midwifery.

Moū - About you

As a return to practice midwife, you will be considered supernumerary for a period of time as you work on your return to practice program. You will be working closely with our educator and clinical coach and will be well encouraged and supported through you're journey back into the midwifery workforce.

E pā ana ki a tatou - About us

With approximately 500 births each year, we are a small secondary unit. Our unit has six

antenatal/postnatal rooms and three delivery rooms, one of which is set up for primary birthing. We work closely with Te Whatu Ora: Capital and Coast which can foster opportunity to expand knowledge and skills in a tertiary unit.

  • -To obtain your Annual Practising Certificate
  • -Gain confidence and competence in clinical skills
  • -Be updated with current evidence-based practice
  • -Provide supernumerary capacity for a period of time as you meet Midwifery Council requirements
  • -Support you're individually tailored plan to meet your needs/requirements
  • -We may be able to support you with Relocation Costs (Contact us to discuss)
