Based at the Ara Poutama Aotearoa National Office on The Terrace and reporting directly to the newly-appointed Chief People Officer (CPO) who has a strong mandate for change, we have an exciting opportunity for a Personal Assistant/Business Support Coordinator to join our whānau and enable that change. The PA/Business Support Coordinator is one of those opportunities. This role represents an opportunity to shape a new way of working while providing daily executive support, as well as diary management assistance and coordination of key tasks for the CPO. Executive support includes being the point of contact for telephone calls, managing and responding to emails, tracking delegation of tasks to get the best out of the CPO and his team, collation and/or preparation of meeting documents, and the preparation and enablement of documentation where required e.g. presentations to senior leaders or the broader workforce whānau.
This role requires extensive collaboration and liaison with the People & Capability senior leadership team and the wider People & Capability Group. The opportunities to enhance mahi/outcomes across the group is immense.

The CPO is after someone who is purpose driven, can challenge his thinking and system processes, and who brings solutions to problems/opportunities. With a strong growth mindset and possessing exceptional communication and organisational skills, you will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Advanced knowledge of, and competence in, the use of Microsoft Office suite along with the ability to learn other applications integral to your role
- Ability to delegate and have oversight of a number of tasks and projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with stakeholders across a range of organisational levels
- Proven ability to prioritise conflicting tasks and use initiative to obtain the required result
- Ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality and manage sensitive information
- Proficiency in, or openness to/currently learning, Te Reo Māori.
We are looking for a great human – first and foremost! You are a competent team-player who can show an understanding (or an openness to developing an understanding) of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to the work of government departments.
Salary band for this role is $60,292 - $85,118 depending on the skills and experience you bring to the role.
