Working in this cohesive team provides a real opportunity to support and strengthen the huge breadth of work we do across the Department. You'll be a key contributor to our goal of providing a modern, responsive Internal Audit service to the Department that works collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team, the Audit and Risk Committee and assurance providers both inside and external to Corrections.
Mōu | About you
As a Senior Internal Auditor you'll be responsible for providing assurance and advisory services to the business as well as guidance and assistance to help them succeed. Each day will provide variety and challenge. Key tasks include undertaking audits from the approved Internal Audit Plan, completing special reviews as requested by the ELT, and supporting the Manager Internal Audit to develop the value and maturity of the Internal Audit function. You will focus on corporate and operational processes both inside and outside of prisons, provide pragmatic and forward-looking advice, and work strategically with a variety of stakeholder groups. You'll also undertake project work across the wider Risk and Assurance team.

You will have a diverse range of skills including:
- Strong experience in an Internal Audit position, preferably in a large or complex organisation
- Experience in undertaking complex assurance, advisory and review engagements
- Demonstrated ability to influence others to gain support for audit actions and recommendations
- The skills to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including at a senior management level
- Producing well-crafted, audience-friendly reports with practical recommendations that provide a platform for continuous improvement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The salary range for this role is $91,953 - $129,816. Appointment will be based on skills and experience relevant to the role.
