Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Asset Management team is currently looking for a Property Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day property management of the Department's non-custodial property portfolio. This comprises both leased and owned sites which are located across NZ.

Commercial challenge in this role comes from managing leasing arrangements, acquiring new accommodation, or renewing existing ones, and managing key relationships between landlords, developers and other stakeholders.

You will also implement outcomes from portfolio strategies, facilities management asset plans and governance processes across the portfolio to best practice standards and will lead investment case development for capital projects.  Working with business operations and the project delivery team, you will ensure that diverse business requirements are captured and delivered. 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of managing a large property portfolio within a corporate or government environment
  • A proven track record in negotiating agreements to lease (including acquisitions), leases, rent reviews and other related property transactions
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to the management of commercial property
  • Knowledge and/or an appreciation of the principles of energy, sustainability management and asset management planning
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate complex concepts to a range of stakeholders.
