Service Managers

2 roles - one based at our Porirua Service Centre and the other based at our Wellington Service Centre in Adelaide Road

The Service Manager role offers you the opportunity to showcase your ability to achieve outcomes through others, to live the values of Ara Poutama Aotearoa, to prove your capability as a true leader and to show determination to strive for high performance in line with our organisational strategies.  In other words, be a driver of success for Hōkai Rangi, which has a foundation of success of a values-led organisation.

With rehabilitation of people we work alongisde being our main focus, a “One Team” approach is paramount to ensure those people in the management of Ara Poutama Aotearoa remain at the centre of our efforts and victims at the centre of our concern. By providing professional leadership in all aspects of practice, legislation and offender management, you will maintain quality standards and ensure statutory obligations in line with Department policy.

 

He kōrero mōu | About you 

We are looking for an inspirational leader, the kind of individual who leads and people naturally want to follow. 

You will need to:

  • Be a strong and visible leader who engages and motivates staff
  • Lead a team through operational pressures and demands, while keeping their wellness at the forefront of your decision making
  • Foster best practice in community probation management
  • Be able to co-lead with respect and support of eachother
  • Be able to identify and manage risk to the community
  • Have strong relationship management skills
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in applying kaupapa Māori principles to enhance community outcomes is desirable
  • Experience in the Corrections environment or other organisations that service the Criminal Justice System would be an advantage but is not a requisite

This is a challenging and rewarding choice; managing a team to make change that matters to individuals, their whanāu and their communities. 

 

The starting salary for this role is $97,808.

 

Please specify in your cover letter which Service Centre you would prefer to be based at - Porirua or Adelaide Road, Wellington.
